LIFE IS BETTER TOGETHER!
Jesus never intended for the Christian life to be a solo journey.
Jesus’ plan has always been for His followers to grow together through meaningful relationships. He started the very first small group to train and launch His ministry. Those 12 men began their own small groups, communities of believers, as we hear about in Acts 2.
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Acts 2:46-47
First CRC “Life Groups” are now being organized to help our church family build fulfilling friendships through small groups. Besides being a valuable ministry for enfolding new members and guests to our church family, small groups will encourage long-time members to move beyond friendly greetings on Sundays to deeper connection and involvement.
Community is one of God’s appointed means for the grace of mutual encouragement and exhortation. WE STAND FIRM WHEN WE STAND TOGETHER.
Beginning mid-September, Life Groups will provide regular fellowship, mutual encouragement, Bible study and prayer. Making a commitment to a Life Group is a commitment to intentionally share life with other believers on an exciting journey of growing together in our walk with the Lord.
You do not need to walk the Christian life alone or get lost in the body of Christ. Watch for details to see which group would be a good fit for you!
You are invited to share this opportunity to grow in faith with others. Be thinking and praying about what kind of group you would enjoy.
Women’s Bible Studies
MOMS@1ST: Moms of all age and stages are welcome! We use curriculum from MOPS International.
- When: 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays (every other week, beginning in September)
- Where: The Loft
- Nursery and Bible classes are available through kindergarten age in the Education Building. Babies are always welcome to stay with their moms.
Daughters of Zion: All women are invited to join us in studying the Bible.
Come and study with other women as we study I & 2 Peter and Jude. Sometimes we all feel a little like Peter Pan. We’d rather be children, free of obligations and responsibilities. Sometimes we feel that way about our Christian lives. The writers of 1 and 2 Peter and Jude understand how difficult it is to grow into maturity. We will see how God provides direction and comfort when we travel dark roads, and discover what it takes to be mature in Christ.
- When: 10:00 a.m. Thursdays (every other week, beginning in September)
- Where: Education Building
- When: 10:00 a.m. Mondays (beginning in September)
- Where: The Loft
Awake, Young Families, Tired and Retired, 60+ Club, and Senior Ministry
Here at First, we have fellowship groups for singles, couples, families, “empty-nesters”, retired, and seniors to connect with each other.
We also have inter-generational fellowship groups, such as Dinners 8’s and Families 8’s where couples or families gather for food and fellowship with each other.
